Brennden is 5!

Yes, I know, I am very late in posting this. Here are a few highlights of the last year.
1- He started PreSchool! And he loves it. Above is a test he was given at the beginning of the year. The only thing he needed to learn was purple, he kept calling it pink. He also learned to write his name. Right now he is having me help him learn how to read. Sometimes I feel like I home school him and then send him off to school. Ha Ha
2- Over the summer he grew a whole 3 almost 4 inches! He's like a weed. He has also gained 8 lbs now weighing in at 48 lbs. Where did my 6lb 12 oz baby boy go?
3- He tried his hand at sports with T-Ball. He wants to try some more but needs to work on sportsmanship first.
4-He loves to play games on the playstation and wii. And he is pretty good too.
5- His favorite food is cucumbers. He is sad that they are out of season :( His favorite color is blue. And he loves Geo from Team Umi Zoomi.

6- When he grows up he wants to be a Fire Fighter. He's been saying this for years so we are trying to see if he can't go the the fire station for a look around.

Brennden is such a good big brother to Charity and Dalin. He loves to share and has a big heart. We are very thankful to have him in our family.

Melt Down

When Charity was born the hospital gave us some soothe binkies. Charity hated them. We still have one so I sanitized it and gave it to Dalin. Big mistake. Charity had a melt down. She kicked, hit, and screamed. So I spanked her hand and sent her to her room. This was at 3:30. There she cried herself to sleep and didn't wake till 6:30 the next morning! Think she was tired? But she never mentioned the binki the next time she saw Dalin with it.

A 2 Year Old's Conversation

I had a funny conversation with Charity the other day. It went like this...

Mom: Come here, you need a diaper change. (I then grab her and put her on the changing table)
Charity: Tootles! Tootles!
Mom: I don't think Tootles is here.
Charity: Where did he go?
Mom: I think he went home.
Charity: Wahh. Wahh. (she actually says wahh instead of crying when she fakes it)
Mom: What's wrong.
Charity: I'm crying.
Mom: Why?
Charity: Because I'm sad.

She is so silly.

Trick or Treat

For some reason, Brennden wanted to be Fatman (Batman) for Halloween this year. We don't own a Batman movie, nor has he seen any Batman cartoons. He got the idea from a puzzle that we have. He hasn't played with that puzzle only a handful of times, but apparently it stuck with him.

Since Charity loves butterflies, we thought we would let her be a Butterfly/Fairy. She loved it.

I had to take a photo of Dalin and I. I don't have many. Most of the time it is Dalin and Dustin since I'm the one taking the pic. Can you tell I'm tired?

Dalin had fun too. He just sat in the carrier and watched all the action. Charity made it up the street and back before Dustin took her home. And Brennden, Dalin, and I went down one more street. It felt like we didn't get a lot of candy this year. Only 1 in 4 houses had any. I guess I got used to St George where you go down two streets and the bucket is overflowing. But that's okay since we know who is going to really eat most of the candy. Dustin and I don't need any more junk food.

Halloween

This is Brennden's pumpkin.

This is Charity's pumpkin.

Brennden just wanted to poke out the eyes, nose, and mouth. The rest was to cucky.

Charity just wanted to stab the poor pumpkin to death.

And Dalin just chilled inside. This is his favorite position. He gets mad when I roll him back onto his back. And no, he wasn't on the couch while we were outside, this is just the photo I wanted to use.

My No Good, Dirty Rotten, Horribley Awful Day

That's right. This was my day today. But it didn't start out that way. Oh no, it started out rather good actually. Brennden got up and ready for school way easy. Dustin didn't have to work til the afternoon so I got to leave the kids with him and go to the chiropractor stress free. Charity went down for a nap easy and Dalin took one with her so I was able to catch up on the last House episode. Brennden was excellent at school today! It has been a week since he has gotten into any kind of trouble! And the rest of the afternoon the kids played together like angels. Up until this point my day was rather wonderful. But nothing can last forever and most things are too good to be true. I mean, a whole entire day without one little thing happening, who was I kidding?

I let the kids out back to play while I was making dinner. Charity somehow hurt her face and Brennden hurt his back. Dalin starts crying with no end in sight and the oven timer is going off all at the same time. Once everyone is calmed down we sit to eat. Kind of. Dalin cries through dinner, Charity won't touch hers, and Brennden downs his entire plate so that he can have Spaghettios. (He right now is on a strike of anything I make for dinner so if he eats whats on his plate he can have what he wants after) Charity gets a hold of yogurt and spills it all over my bed. Of course it can't be her own. Dalin is still crying. I've given him medicine, fed him, changed him, held him, but nothing is working.

Brennden and Charity need a bath so I decide to give them a bubble bath. What kid doesn't like a bubble bath? Mine. Brennden cries that he wanted a shower. I tell him to bad so he climbs in the bath. Charity runs away screaming. I have to force her into the bathtub where she instantly calms down and starts to play. She likes to fight just for the sake of fighting I swear it. Dalin is still crying. I clean up after dinner. Did I mention that our dishwasher isn't working since the city has the water softener down? I have to wash by hand now. Arg. I go to get the kids out and find that they have drained all the water and are playing in a big pile of soap. Of course it takes forever to get the soup off and the floor looks like the water drained onto it instead of down the drain.

I finally get them out and ready for bed when the doorbell rings. We've been expecting a package all day long and it doesn't arrive until 7pm. It is a COD, which we never have a problem with until today. For some reason the company decided to issue 3 different invoices from two separate address. This means we need two money orders instead of one. While writing down the amounts I need, the kids run out the door and into the delivery truck. And Dalin is still crying in my arms. And it keeps getting better. Since Dustin signed the money orders, only he can go change them and he is at work. I have to dig through the garbage just to find the receipt to be able to change the amounts. Luckily tomorrow is garbage day so I still had them. ( I don't know if I would call it entirely lucky that garbage day is tomorrow.)

Finally everything starts to settle down. Whew. Wait, what did I just step in. You have got to be kidding me! Who threw up! I clean it up and get the kids in bed. I start to pack Dustin's bags because he is working out of town for a few days and realize that the sheets are still in the washer. I go put them in the dryer and start to pick up the living room, and what happens? Once again, I step in throw up! Come on!

And even now, as I am writing this, Dalin is still crying. Somebody save me!

Tootles

Charity loves watching Mickey Mouse Club House. Every day you can see her put her hands to her mouth and call out "Oh Tootles!" It's really cute. She watched a special one day where Tootles ran away because he thought the rescue rover was replacing him. Everyone went around looking for him asking "Where's Tootles?" When we heard her asking where he was we thought it was because of that episode. The more we watched her the more we realized that she was calling for him when she needed help with something. I believe she thinks Tootles is real. It's quite funny.

Parent Teacher Conference

This is Brennden doing one of his many silly faces. The boy who is too smart for his own good. I still can't believe he is big enough to go to school, even if it is only preschool. Tuesday was parent teacher conference. His teacher went over the tests that they did with him at the beginning of the year and compared them to where he is now. He tested in the 6 year old level for almost everything. The only thing he can't do is touch his thumb to each finger separately and he calls purple pink.

I am waiting for flash cards that I have ordered to come in. Brennden is asking me to teach him to read and they don't do that in Pre-K so I told him I would. I bet it takes a few years for him to learn a whole lot from school being as how he has the drive to learn so much right now. The only thing he has to work on is pushing limits. He has always done that and I suspect he always will. But what can you do? I hope that his love for learning stays with him throughout his whole life.

2 Months

I can't believe Dalin is 2 months old! I took him to the doctor today and he is now 23.5 inches (19.5 at birth) and weighs in at 11 lbs 2ozs (from 6 lbs 5 oz at birth). It's funny looking back at the other two. Brennden was just a chubby little guy, he grew so fast. Charity was always on the small side. But Dalin just doesn't look as chubby as Charity did at this age. It must be because he is taller.

I never thought about how people would pronounce Dalin's name when he was born. Apparently nobody can say it right. They pronounce the the a like in angle. It's just weird to me because that's not what I see when I look at it. All well...

Respect

I recently bought a new book titles "It's Christmas David". Brennden has been asking to read it about every other night. Tonight was one of those nights. After reading it he starts to tell me what he wants for Christmas. It started out with a bike, then 2 wooden cars. How did it end. With 'two' words. Re and spect. Ha Ha. Brennden looked at me and said that. I want just two things mom, re (holds up one finger) spect (holds up a second finger). It made me smile. The things that come out of that boys mouth!

Growing Up

This is Dalin a few hours after he was born weighing a whole 6 lb 5 oz and 19.5 inches long. He was blessed with a beautiful head of brown hair.

Two weeks later he weighs in at 7 lb 7.5 oz and grew to 20.5 inches. He's starting to grow pretty good.

Here he is bald on top with hair on the sides. I call is his old man hairdo. Since his hair on top has grown in blond and he is losing the hair on the sides. I don't know what he weighs now or how tall he is. Some of his 0-3 months are still a little big on him. Brennden was always on the big side, Charity on the small, and it seems to me that Dalin might be right in the middle.

The only really big thing about him are his feet. He already is in size 1 shoes. They look so huge on him! A lady in the ward made me these booties. Socks just don't like to stay on his feet. His feet are either too long for the socks or the tops of the socks are just too wide. These booties are the only things that stay on. (other than shoes, but who wants to go around in shoes all day!)

Dalin loves to sit by the back window and look outside. Every time he eats he smiles after wards. And he loves to talk. It's funny to listen to him. If you don't look at him while he's talking it sounds like he's about ready to cry but he is all smiles.

T-Ball

Brennen has been playing T-Ball for a week now and he is getting better. I signed him up to help meet people, but now I'm thinking it is more for good sportsmanship. He needs to learn it. The first two games he threw his mit down because he didn't get the ball. Yesterday he did lots better.

Charity loves to go too. She has already made a friend. They are either sitting in their chairs by each other or they are finding rocks to collect. It's too cute.

Here he is waiting for his turn at bat. Supposedly they put kids that are in the same school on the same team. If that's true no one in his school signed up because he is the only Union kid on his team.

Yea! He his the ball! They give the kid three tries without the T.

Watching him run with the helmet on is funny. He is afraid it will fall off so he runs funny.

Suggestions Anyone?

This week Brennden has gone to the office twice already. And it's not because he is in trouble. He is actually asking to go there. He says he needs alone time. Brennden is voluntarily giving up activities to go to the office. And I am at a total loss as to what to do. If anyone has any suggestions as to what I can do to help him not want to go to the office I would greatly appreciate it. Next Thursday is back to school night so I will be able to talk more in depth with his teacher. Hopefully we can come to some kind of solution. I just hope it is something that we can do at home. If not, we will at least be able to talk to his teacher and see if we can't have some sort of compromise.

If you are unable to leave the comment here, feel free to send me a message on facebook. Thank you.

Rainy Day

I let my kids play in the rain today. Apparently it wasn't wet enough though. They turned on the hose and chased each other.

Brennden was nice and shared his lulella (umbrella) with Charity.

They tried to catch the water running off the roof.

Busy

As you can guess, the last two weeks have been busy. A lot of it is just a blur to me. Between Dalin's arrival, Brennden's school, and Charity getting used to not being the baby; it's a wonder I haven't completely lost my mind. People keep telling me that 3 is the hardest number of kids to have. Does this mean I can survive anything now? Well, I am surviving. Here are a few updates on each of our little angels.

Dalin is still trying to figure out the difference between night and day. He has gotten a lot better though. This is his favorite way to sleep. Hands my his face and on his side. None of my kids have liked to have their hands swaddled to their sides. Dalin is the only one who actually likes being swaddled at all. Sometimes his hair looks light brown, sometimes dirty blonde, and on occation it has red tints to it. Monday he goes to the doctor for his 2 week checkup. I'm interested to see how tall he is and how much he weighs. He has been filling out some and not looking like such a stick. He is deffinitly going to be taller than the other two. You can stretch his hands 'over' his head and 'clasp' his hands together. Most babies hand barely stretch to the top of their heads.

Charity is getting used to not being the baby anymore. She looks so big now. I've always thought she is so small, but not anymore. Her favorite thing to do right now is lay on her belly and color. She is pretty good at it too. She tries to stay in the lines and everything. Right now she is into wearing dresses all the time. Charity has to pick out her own clothes and put them on by herself. She want to brush her own teeth, do her own hair, and on occation (regretably) change her own diaper. She is getting used to Dalin being here and Brennden being gone. And she is now giving me alone time with her, which she has never really done before. Charity also helps me out with dishes, finding binkis, and throwing away diapers. She is such a helper right now.

Brennden loves going to school. Right now he gets in trouble every day, but I know he is just testing his limits with the teacher. Every moring the school meets in the gym for the pledge of alligence and a patriotic song. Brennden knows just were to go. All I have to do is drop him off in front of the school and he runs right in. Dustin has been dropping him off on his way to work, but the last two days he has had to go to work earlier so I have been doing it. Silly as it may sound, I cry watching him go all by himself. When did he get so big? I didn't even cry on the first day of school. I always ask Brennden what he did at school and the response I get is usually about if he was good or bad. Friday I got a different answer. He told be he beat the white boy in a race. It made me laugh. Then as soon as he walks in the house he plays PS3 for an hour. Right now, he thinks every day is just wonderful!

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

Brennden started Preschool on Thursday. Of course he has to pose all super hero like. He loved it. But he did run away and hide. I think he was just exploring and didn't want to teacher to make him stop. So when it's time to go again on Friday he is excited until he realizes that he will be going to the same class. Then he gets all mad. I had taken Charity with me too so she started getting upset when he did. It was not fun.

Yesterday the teacher said he kept making noises. She would ask him to stop and as soon as her back was to him he would do it again. Can you say 'testing her limits?' When I asked him why he was doing it he told me it was because she didn't yell at him to stop. Apparently he thinks asking isn't enough, he needs to be yelled at. Oh my.

I'm so glad that he likes school. He already knows everything they are going to be teaching this year, but it is a big help here to have one less kid to have to worry about. Besides, he is getting to know more kids and gets to socialize.

Dalin Lane Farnsworth

Dalin made it, the doctor didn't! You read it right. I told him he might not when I first met him. Let me go back to the beginning.

I woke up Sunday morning starving. And I do mean starving. I went to the kitchen and ate anything that looked good. After half an hour of eating I went back to my room and laid down in bed. That's when the contractions first started. They started out 18 minutes apart and were at 8 minutes apart by 9. Needless to say, I didn't go to church. Instead, I went back to sleep for two hours. I woke up, made lunch, and went back to bed for a few more hours. Contractions eventually made it to about 4 minutes apart and then stopped. After all that work!

To make a long story short they picked back up at 8. My friend called at about 9 or 9:30 to ask when to come over to watch the kids. We told her an hour, she said 15 minutes. Thank goodness she did! As soon as I stepped into the truck my contractions went from 4 minutes apart to right on top of each other. The nurses asked why we waited so long. Well, we thought we still had a few hours. We were only in the hospital for one hour before Dalin came. The nurses were upset because they delivered instead of the doctor.

Dalin weighs in at a whopping 6 lbs 5 oz. and 19.5 inches long. He was born at 11:14PM, just shy of being born 8-9-10. By the time I left I had 5 different braclets on! Two for the emergency room (1 handwritten and one printed because of time), one for blood type, one for allergies to medicines, and one linking my to Dalin.

The proud father!

Not the most flattering pics of me, but all well.

The doctor later told me that he laughed when he got there. He asked if I needed anything for the pain and I asked for Tylenol.

If you want to know anything else, you'll have to ask. I don't want to over share anything.

HOT!

So yesterday our AC died on us. It's 104 outside plus humidity so it took no time at all for our house to start feeling like an oven. The repair guy probably won't be able to get to us till next week! Thank goodness it started to pour that evening. It dropped the temperature 20 degrees in a matter of minutes. Only problem was that it took out the power to pizza places and I didn't want to cook in our over heated house so we had to wait till 8 to order an food.

Dustin went out and found the last window AC unit. It wasn't cheap but we are definitely glad to have it. We will probably be spending the next couple days in ours and the kids room just to keep cool. Luckily we have TV in the room or I would go crazy stuck in one room for a few days. AHH! Now just watch, the day the guy can fix the AC will be the day I go into labor so no one will be here. Ha ha.

Home Stretch

I am almost done. YEA! I went to the doctor's yesterday and he told me I was all ready to go any day now. With the ultra sounds done here and the measurements, the doctor thinks I am really one week further along. Then when he found out how small my first two were, he really thinks so. But the two dates only being 7 days apart is no reason the actually change the due date. That gives me 2 to 3 weeks left. If you go with 2 and I go into labor 1 week early that gives me just 1 week right? Wishful thinking, I know. It's just so darn hot and humid here that I can't do anything. So hopefully I pop next week. Only problem with that is that the doctor is out of town next week and he has been so cooperative with me that I don't want another one to deliver this little guy. Having that been said, we are currently taking bets on when the day will come. The winner will get, (drum roll) Bragging Rights! I know, what a wonderful prize.

So far I have chosen the 6th, Heather the 9th, Dustin the 10th and my parents the 13th.

Let us know when you think the day will be.

Brennden Is Getting So Big

Brennden caught his first fish on Friday! He was so excited, especially since he got to use the bumblebee lure that he always asks to use. He loves to fish. He would stay out all day if we let them.

Brennden also has his first girlfriend. We go to the library every week for story time and that is where he met her. She is cute too! When she got there today he ran up and grabbed her hand. He has to sit by her the whole time and tells her stories and asks questions. It's the cutest thing.

I'm A Big Girl Now!

So Charity decided that she is ready to wear big girl panties. She keeps getting into her drawer and putting them on. Yesterday she say, "I have to pee." Then she ran to the bathroom, took off her diaper, and climbed up on the potty. Then, she went! She won't sit on the kid potty and she won't let you help her onto the big potty so it is a challenge for her. but that makes it all the better, right.

Her downside this week. Wanting to be a baby. She keeps trying to get into the bassinet, swing, car seat... Then she cries when you tell her no. I made sure that everything is put together so that we only have to go through this one time instead of for the next few months. Crossing my fingers.

The Big One! (and other news)

This is the big one that Dustin caught today. Wow! Look at it compared to the average fish in that pond. It is 7lb 2oz and 22 1/2 inches long.

Brennden said, "This is the best day ever!" As you can tell, he loves to fish. We even let him have a hook today he just couldn't get one to stay on all the way to the shore.

Needless to say, we took this one home. If we can find a recipe we will cook it tomorrow. Anyone know how to cook a bass? In the 3.5 hours we were there we caught about 11 fish that actually made it out of the water. Many more would make it to the shore line and then get off the hook. :( All well...

In other news, here are a few things that I have made this last month. I made this shirt without a pattern. So glad that it turned out. Now I need to see if it fits but Charity hasn't been too cooperative lately.

I love having this for the car. It keeps things so much more organized and the kids like to use it. Now I need 3 more. 1 for my car and 2 for the truck. I have also made another dress for Charity and some PJs for Brennden. There are lots of patterns that I have bought, I just haven't found the time to get the them yet.

Charity is Two!

Charity turned two yesterday! I can't believe it. We took her on her first trip to the zoo. First thing we did was go to the petting part. Charity was afraid of the adult animals but absolutely loved the babies. We also discovered that she is afraid of gorillas, orangutans, chimps, and lions. We stayed for 5 hours and both kids were wonderful. No complaints about having to walk around.

Once we got home and napped I started to make her cake. I let her lick the beaters. Doesn't she look beautiful in all that chocolate.

She loved having us sing Happy Birthday to her. She even sang with us.

It was fun to watch her try to blow out the candles. She was blowing good, she just kept blowing up instead of at the candles.

Charity had a blast unwrapping her gifts. She got a magna doodle, bubble gun, and some money. I later found her trying to unwrap the wrapping paper. She thought that she would find another gift in there. But she gave up after a not finding anything after a little while.

After we put her to bed we kept hearing her patter around in her room. When we checked in before going to bed this is how we found her.

I can't believe how much she has grown! She loves to dress up (dresses, hairdo, earrings, bracelets, shoes, anything girlie), draw, be outside, and read. She will now take a binki instead of her thumb, yea. She still has the same old attitude and will fold in half and pout when she doesn't get her way. She is in 18 month shirts and 24 month dresses (but only for the length, the tops hang off of her). She says a million words, Brennden is always trying to teach her new ones. And best of all, she follows directions wonderfully!

If you want to see more photos of our day at the zoo just check the photos on my facebook.
