That's right. This was my day today. But it didn't start out that way. Oh no, it started out rather good actually. Brennden got up and ready for school way easy. Dustin didn't have to work til the afternoon so I got to leave the kids with him and go to the chiropractor stress free. Charity went down for a nap easy and Dalin took one with her so I was able to catch up on the last House episode. Brennden was excellent at school today! It has been a week since he has gotten into any kind of trouble! And the rest of the afternoon the kids played together like angels. Up until this point my day was rather wonderful. But nothing can last forever and most things are too good to be true. I mean, a whole entire day without one little thing happening, who was I kidding?
I let the kids out back to play while I was making dinner. Charity somehow hurt her face and Brennden hurt his back. Dalin starts crying with no end in sight and the oven timer is going off all at the same time. Once everyone is calmed down we sit to eat. Kind of. Dalin cries through dinner, Charity won't touch hers, and Brennden downs his entire plate so that he can have Spaghettios. (He right now is on a strike of anything I make for dinner so if he eats whats on his plate he can have what he wants after) Charity gets a hold of yogurt and spills it all over my bed. Of course it can't be her own. Dalin is still crying. I've given him medicine, fed him, changed him, held him, but nothing is working.
Brennden and Charity need a bath so I decide to give them a bubble bath. What kid doesn't like a bubble bath? Mine. Brennden cries that he wanted a shower. I tell him to bad so he climbs in the bath. Charity runs away screaming. I have to force her into the bathtub where she instantly calms down and starts to play. She likes to fight just for the sake of fighting I swear it. Dalin is still crying. I clean up after dinner. Did I mention that our dishwasher isn't working since the city has the water softener down? I have to wash by hand now. Arg. I go to get the kids out and find that they have drained all the water and are playing in a big pile of soap. Of course it takes forever to get the soup off and the floor looks like the water drained onto it instead of down the drain.
I finally get them out and ready for bed when the doorbell rings. We've been expecting a package all day long and it doesn't arrive until 7pm. It is a COD, which we never have a problem with until today. For some reason the company decided to issue 3 different invoices from two separate address. This means we need two money orders instead of one. While writing down the amounts I need, the kids run out the door and into the delivery truck. And Dalin is still crying in my arms. And it keeps getting better. Since Dustin signed the money orders, only he can go change them and he is at work. I have to dig through the garbage just to find the receipt to be able to change the amounts. Luckily tomorrow is garbage day so I still had them. ( I don't know if I would call it entirely lucky that garbage day is tomorrow.)
Finally everything starts to settle down. Whew. Wait, what did I just step in. You have got to be kidding me! Who threw up! I clean it up and get the kids in bed. I start to pack Dustin's bags because he is working out of town for a few days and realize that the sheets are still in the washer. I go put them in the dryer and start to pick up the living room, and what happens? Once again, I step in throw up! Come on!
And even now, as I am writing this, Dalin is still crying. Somebody save me!
