Rainy Day

I let my kids play in the rain today. Apparently it wasn't wet enough though. They turned on the hose and chased each other.

Brennden was nice and shared his lulella (umbrella) with Charity.

They tried to catch the water running off the roof.

Busy

As you can guess, the last two weeks have been busy. A lot of it is just a blur to me. Between Dalin's arrival, Brennden's school, and Charity getting used to not being the baby; it's a wonder I haven't completely lost my mind. People keep telling me that 3 is the hardest number of kids to have. Does this mean I can survive anything now? Well, I am surviving. Here are a few updates on each of our little angels.

Dalin is still trying to figure out the difference between night and day. He has gotten a lot better though. This is his favorite way to sleep. Hands my his face and on his side. None of my kids have liked to have their hands swaddled to their sides. Dalin is the only one who actually likes being swaddled at all. Sometimes his hair looks light brown, sometimes dirty blonde, and on occation it has red tints to it. Monday he goes to the doctor for his 2 week checkup. I'm interested to see how tall he is and how much he weighs. He has been filling out some and not looking like such a stick. He is deffinitly going to be taller than the other two. You can stretch his hands 'over' his head and 'clasp' his hands together. Most babies hand barely stretch to the top of their heads.

Charity is getting used to not being the baby anymore. She looks so big now. I've always thought she is so small, but not anymore. Her favorite thing to do right now is lay on her belly and color. She is pretty good at it too. She tries to stay in the lines and everything. Right now she is into wearing dresses all the time. Charity has to pick out her own clothes and put them on by herself. She want to brush her own teeth, do her own hair, and on occation (regretably) change her own diaper. She is getting used to Dalin being here and Brennden being gone. And she is now giving me alone time with her, which she has never really done before. Charity also helps me out with dishes, finding binkis, and throwing away diapers. She is such a helper right now.

Brennden loves going to school. Right now he gets in trouble every day, but I know he is just testing his limits with the teacher. Every moring the school meets in the gym for the pledge of alligence and a patriotic song. Brennden knows just were to go. All I have to do is drop him off in front of the school and he runs right in. Dustin has been dropping him off on his way to work, but the last two days he has had to go to work earlier so I have been doing it. Silly as it may sound, I cry watching him go all by himself. When did he get so big? I didn't even cry on the first day of school. I always ask Brennden what he did at school and the response I get is usually about if he was good or bad. Friday I got a different answer. He told be he beat the white boy in a race. It made me laugh. Then as soon as he walks in the house he plays PS3 for an hour. Right now, he thinks every day is just wonderful!

Brennden started Preschool on Thursday. Of course he has to pose all super hero like. He loved it. But he did run away and hide. I think he was just exploring and didn't want to teacher to make him stop. So when it's time to go again on Friday he is excited until he realizes that he will be going to the same class. Then he gets all mad. I had taken Charity with me too so she started getting upset when he did. It was not fun.

Yesterday the teacher said he kept making noises. She would ask him to stop and as soon as her back was to him he would do it again. Can you say 'testing her limits?' When I asked him why he was doing it he told me it was because she didn't yell at him to stop. Apparently he thinks asking isn't enough, he needs to be yelled at. Oh my.

I'm so glad that he likes school. He already knows everything they are going to be teaching this year, but it is a big help here to have one less kid to have to worry about. Besides, he is getting to know more kids and gets to socialize.

Dalin Lane Farnsworth

Dalin made it, the doctor didn't! You read it right. I told him he might not when I first met him. Let me go back to the beginning.

I woke up Sunday morning starving. And I do mean starving. I went to the kitchen and ate anything that looked good. After half an hour of eating I went back to my room and laid down in bed. That's when the contractions first started. They started out 18 minutes apart and were at 8 minutes apart by 9. Needless to say, I didn't go to church. Instead, I went back to sleep for two hours. I woke up, made lunch, and went back to bed for a few more hours. Contractions eventually made it to about 4 minutes apart and then stopped. After all that work!

To make a long story short they picked back up at 8. My friend called at about 9 or 9:30 to ask when to come over to watch the kids. We told her an hour, she said 15 minutes. Thank goodness she did! As soon as I stepped into the truck my contractions went from 4 minutes apart to right on top of each other. The nurses asked why we waited so long. Well, we thought we still had a few hours. We were only in the hospital for one hour before Dalin came. The nurses were upset because they delivered instead of the doctor.

Dalin weighs in at a whopping 6 lbs 5 oz. and 19.5 inches long. He was born at 11:14PM, just shy of being born 8-9-10. By the time I left I had 5 different braclets on! Two for the emergency room (1 handwritten and one printed because of time), one for blood type, one for allergies to medicines, and one linking my to Dalin.

The proud father!

Not the most flattering pics of me, but all well.

The doctor later told me that he laughed when he got there. He asked if I needed anything for the pain and I asked for Tylenol.

If you want to know anything else, you'll have to ask. I don't want to over share anything.

HOT!

So yesterday our AC died on us. It's 104 outside plus humidity so it took no time at all for our house to start feeling like an oven. The repair guy probably won't be able to get to us till next week! Thank goodness it started to pour that evening. It dropped the temperature 20 degrees in a matter of minutes. Only problem was that it took out the power to pizza places and I didn't want to cook in our over heated house so we had to wait till 8 to order an food.

Dustin went out and found the last window AC unit. It wasn't cheap but we are definitely glad to have it. We will probably be spending the next couple days in ours and the kids room just to keep cool. Luckily we have TV in the room or I would go crazy stuck in one room for a few days. AHH! Now just watch, the day the guy can fix the AC will be the day I go into labor so no one will be here. Ha ha.
