Slacking

I have been slacking off so badly on all of my duties as a wife, mother, and house keeper. Arg! I can barely drag myself out of bed in the mornings to be with Dustin while he gets ready for work. When I do get out of bed I usually fall back asleep as soon as we reach the couch. I need to get up and spend time with him, I can always take a nap with Brennden later in the day instead of watching tv while he sleeps. And I haven't been packing him any snacks to go with his lunch.

I keep letting Brennden watch way too much tv, eat on the couch instead of at the table, and I haven't read his scriptures to him very often. He wants to eat snacks for breakfast every day and we don't get our teeth brushed or dressed until around noon! What is going on here? I need to start getting back into a routine with him. He keeps asking to go outside and blow bubbles or draw with his chalk or go to the park, but I have just been lazy. It's been getting increasingly harder to get him to take a nap on time because he isn't tired. He hasn't done anything all day so why should he be?

I have been letting the laundry pile up till we have nothing left to wear, only vacuum every other day, the dishes keep getting higher and higher in the sink, the beds are left unmade, the house gets cleaned every other week instead of every week, and the garbage can is overflowing before I get around to taking it out.... Poor Dustin ends up doing the dishes most nights for me.

My exercising has gone from every other day to once or twice a week, I don't do my hair or change out of my pjs most days, and I keep eating junk food. I think it is about time to start a fire under myself and get the lead out. I keep looking around the house and seeing how bad it is getting and then I get all frustrated about it. I don't like being lazy and there is no excuse to be. When I get off my butt and get things done I feel great. So here's to getting back into a routine.

Oh, Angie...you're just getting a little dose of what it will be like when you have 2 kids!! Although your house is not as clean as it should be and there are lots of things you wish you were doing better, I'm sure you'll still being a great wife & mother. What time does Dustin go to work, anyway? Isn't it way too early??
