My Princess

If you didn't already know it, well, I suck at doing hair. Since I have a girl I have been trying to do some hairstyles that weren't just a pony, pigtail, or straight down. To help with this I found a couple of blogs to follow that show how to do hair.

These first two pictures were taken with my old camera so please forgive me. This one is a simple topsy tail pulled back into another pony.

And this is my personal favorite. It's a braided pony rolled up. It's simple but looks real fancy and nice.

I had to take two different views of this one to really be able to see it. It's a little harder to do because Charity has so many fly aways and it takes a little bit more time to do. It's also hard to explain how it is done. I took a strip, divided it in half and tied it in a knot, then added another strand and knotted it again. I know it doesn't make sense unless you've seen it done.

Charity used to not like her hair being done, but now she asks me to do it. We sit on the couch and 'bond'. I enjoy doing many different things to her hair, now if only I could find things to do with mine. Between her hair, jewelry, nails, and dresses, I'd say I have a princess. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

Time For A Trim

I finally gave into the fact that Dalin needed a cut. I didn't want to do it because he is my last baby and I want him to stay a baby for as long as possible and cutting his hair would make him seem bigger, but when his hair hangs in his eye during swimming you know it's time.

Even with the longest one on it looks so short. He was not happy about it either.

But today is is much happier. Look at how different he looks!

And this is just to show my two boys look at the same age. They look so much alike and yet so different at the same time

Tornado

Yesterday we had a small storm come through town in the evening, it was nothing major at first. We had several thunderstorm warnings come out and a tornado warning in the early evening about 8 miles north of town. At 11pm Charity woke up scared and we had some extreme winds going outside, a few minutes later the storm radio went off again and this time the tornado warning was for us. We gathered the children and took them to the storm shelter during a hail storm from Hell. We had about 15 minutes of hail the size of ping pong balls, and had a few the size of golf balls and even one that before it melted was the size of a tennis ball. We ended up with 2 tornados, one that touched down at 10:53 about a mile southwest of our home, the other at about 11:15 about 3 miles north of our home. Most of the pictures are within about 3 blocks of our house.
